सूखा बरगद

शीतल वायू के साथ,
जीवन की खिलती बगिया में,
सुबह के सूरज की लाली से,
अनगिनत वृक्ष भी जो छाया दे,
उस छाया का मान भी क्या ?

थका टूटा सूरज जब,
अथाह सागर की ओर बढ़े,
जो संध्या की बेला में बढ़े,
और अँधेरे में दामन छोड़ दे,
उस बढ़ते, छुपते साये का मान ही क्या ?

दुपहरी के तपते सुलगते सूरज का,
जो ताप पी कर भी तुझको छाँव दे,
वो सूखा बरगद ही सही,
उसे पहचानो, उसे मान दो।
क्योंकि जीवन के घने अँधेरे में,
जब सब साये भी साथ छोड़ दे,
वो सूखा बरगद खुद जलकर भी,
तेरे जीवन में ज्योत भर दे।

Summary:
Don't judge a friend who is with you in your happy times and leaves you when you need them the most. Find and respect those, who are with you, when you are in troubled waters. He might not be the happiest person in the world, he might not be the richest person in the world, still he will enrich you with happiness. These friends are the one who can go to any extent when you need them the most...
